Looking for a Myrtle Beach resort with a waterpark? Here’s the version where the waterpark doesn’t cost extra: every Sands Resorts guest staying at Sand Dunes gets FREE admission to the Sands Resorts Waterpark — our onsite waterpark on the quieter 74th Ave N stretch of Myrtle Beach.
This guide covers what’s in the park, who it’s best for, and how to make the most of a waterpark-included stay.
What’s in the Sands Resorts Waterpark
- 130,000 gallons of heated water — comfortable even when the ocean is still waking up for the season
- A long lazy river — grab a tube and let the current do the work
- Waterslides — the fast lane for older kids (and competitive parents)
- Giant splash zone with a dumping bucket — you’ll hear the bucket coming; there’s no staying dry
- Waterfall pools and an aquatic treehouse — climb, splash, repeat
- Kiddie-pool playground — shallow water built for the smallest swimmers
- Bubble pool — because kids will fight for it and someone should warn you
What it costs Sand Dunes guests: nothing
FREE admission to the Sands Resorts Waterpark comes with every Sands Resorts stay at Sand Dunes. (Sands does not manage every unit at Sand Dunes — a unit let by an outside rental company is not covered.) No day-pass line, no “maybe just one day at the waterpark” budgeting. If the kids want to go back three afternoons in a row, that’s three afternoons already covered.
When it’s open
The waterpark runs on seasonal hours, weather permitting. For this season’s schedule, contact our reservations team at 1-866-845-1011 — they’ll tell you exactly what’s open during your dates.
Wristbands
Wristbands are required for the waterpark and for all of the resort’s pools. You are given them at check-in — nothing to buy, nothing to pick up later.
Waterpark day, the smart way
- Go early or late. Mid-day is peak splash. Mornings are calmer for little kids.
- The lazy river is the parent move. You can see the slides from a tube.
- Build in a backup. If weather closes the park, the recently renovated indoor pool and indoor whirlpool are open year-round, and the Family FunZone arcade and blacklight mini golf don’t care what the sky is doing.
- Dry off into dinner. Onsite restaurants mean no post-waterpark car ride with soggy towels.
Beyond the waterpark: the rest of the water
Sand Dunes is an oceanfront resort, so the waterpark is chapter one, not the whole book. The oceanfront outdoor pool and lazy river sit beside a sun deck and lawn, the beach is right out front, and the indoor pool keeps swim time alive in any season. See all water and pool activities.
Make it a waterpark-included vacation
A waterpark stay at Sand Dunes comes with the rest of the complete family vacation: condo-style towers and villas, the FunZone, oceanfront dining, and Free Attraction Tickets when you book direct. Check dates and book direct or call 1-866-845-1011.
